Paris Be Behind

May 21, 2008 Two days in Paris and then we were off again. Caught a cab to the train station for our train to Caen. Caen is located about 20 miles inland from Normandie Beach. Train took about 3.5 hours and then a 20 minute cab ride to the hotel at the beach in Hermanville, Fr. The weather was cool and the cab driver was good. Arriving at the hotel, checking in and the looking around. We walked to the beach to see where all those soldiers died on D-Day 1944. The beaches were pristine, wind about 20 mph and the air very cool. The moisture in the air chilled us almost immediately. This is the end of May and D-Day was June 7, so the temps were probably close. We had enough of the beach for a bit and then it was on top search for some dinner. The hotel we stayed at only served breakfast so it was off to town. Town during this time of year is still pretty much closed up. Tourist season opens about the second week of June. We walked for a whole lotta time and finally found a market that had a few items of interest. Grabbed some veggies, bread and beer and headed back to the hotel. Ate and enjoyed, then we settled down and played some cards to pass the time. Got to sleep early and looked forward to touring the next day. Peace to all, Cris & Bob

Lookout Paris

May 19, Sleep was good and the room was very comfy, in room bar was crazy, so we walked and got a beer. Next morning we out early for some breakfast and to start our day of sight seeing. The breakfast we had was good, the best omelet I have ever had. It was a small rest and the food and service were very good. We left and got a tour bus to see the City. The double deck bus was nice and we had headphones and listened to the tape as the bus maneuvered through the city. We left one line and got on other tour lines and toured many parts of the city. We saw most of what Paris had to offer form a moving vehicle and then we started afoot. We ran into a Bread Festival near Notre Dame and got to taste some of the local fare. After a long day we went to the hotel to rest and get some sleep I thought. Short lived, we decided to go over to the Eiffel Tower again and this time we took the tour and went to the top of the tower and what can I say? I don't know how to explain how Grand and Beautiful it was, let me just say, It Was. The tower was very crowded and we spent as much time as we could on the top. Could be very romantic, if about two thousand people weren't around. It was great none the less. Very late night.

Arriving in Paris

May 18, The flight from Heathrow to Paris was good. Although I was pissed about the luggage the people on the ground and in the air were very nice. We got to Paris and found our luggage easily, one bag was open (zipper) one of the fine luggage carriers wanted to check out our undies. Oh Well. Immigration was easy and got to the outside of the terminal for the shuttle that I knew would soon be arriving. I called the shuttle comp. and they said it would arrive in ten minutes. Ten minutes turned into twenty and the thirty and the phone calls were many. Since I had already paid for this one, I was pretty committed. Finally a shuttle arrived and we were able to squeeze in with four golfers from the Czech Republic. Nice conversations, but we all could have used some Binaca. The ride to our hotel took well over an hour and the golfers were dropped off first. Onward and with not so much reckless abandon our driver got us to The Paris Hilton. Paris Hilton is not only and American ho-bag but also a very nice hotel one and a half blocks from the Eiffel Tower. We were looking forward to a quiet night and some dinner in Paris. The day had been long and finally my blood pressure was back down to normal. We got some dinner and had a nice stroll around the area ( re-conn ) so we could plan the next day.

Onward to Paris

May 18, got set to go and had a nice breakfast in the hotel and finished packing the rest of our stuff. The hotel staff had reserved a car for us to arrive at 9am and guess what, it didn't show. I was concerned, and they admitted that they wrote down the wrong date. They got us another car with many apologies and we got on the road. The car got us to FCO in time but dropped us at the wrong terminal. We finally got to British Airways to fly to Paris through Heathrow. When I had booked the flight I had purchased tickets with two luggage pieces each. At the counter the %#$^$%#@$^% that waited on us asked if I had anything in print, no was the answer, so they charged me 76 Euros for two additional bags. I was ready to hurt someone, but Cris kept her head cool and we got through. Imagine that. So we got the plane, flew to Heathrow and got off that plane and had a two hour layover. We were in terminal Five and it is brand new and very nice. They were well organized and people traffic patterns flowed smoothly. After a time and a couple of pints we got on the plane to Paris, I knew there wouldn't be any trouble in Gay Pari because I had already booked transport from the Airport to the Paris Hilton.

Roma

May 17. Rome is an interesting city and the historical aspects are tremendous. We took in the Vatican, Coliseum, many churches and chapels, fountains and all the rest that comes with it. The city itself is small and travel is easy. Trains, buses, planes, bicycles, and the good ole tennis shoe. We had an awesome time using most of the modes of transit. We took in the culture from the aspect of Americans. It seems that different peoples views are not all the same. We talked to others about some things and were surprised that they saw it not quite the same way we did. Alas, the world has various types of folks. The total of our stay in Rome was about some more tours and a very long day to Naples and Pompeii. The bus was comfy, but the trip was long and the fourteen hours before we got back to the hotel were grueling. Pompeii was very interesting in the way it was preserved with the ashes from the volcano( Mt. Vesuvius ) The guide was good and we were with some nice people. Worth the time and the cost of the tour, about $300.00 for the two of us. We got back to the hotel and had to rest before our next venture. We hashed over taking the train to FCO airport, but we chickened and reserved a cab.

Pizza and the Vatican

May 16th 2008, The location of our hotel was far from all the tourist traps, but with the use of public transportation it was very easy to make many visits to the Vatican, Coliseum, Trevi Fountain and all the rest that Roma has to offer. The places to visit were many, and varied in the content of the history and the cultural aspects. To list all the places would be boring to you, but it is fair to say that all the people that made the history of Italy did not waste the effort on us. We took in as much of the history as was possible and did enjoy it quite a bit. The people that dealt with the tourists were for the most part very pleasant and the tour guides were always at their best. Some of the tours were better than the rest, it seemed that is the way. With the train station right at the Vatican, it was quite easy to there frequently. One afternoon we got on the right route train to get to the hotel, the train was an express and it passed or stop by about twenty(20) miles. The result was a bit inconvenient , but we got to see a lot of the original aqueduct that furnished water to the great Roman Empire. Got on a return trip train and got to the hotel. Quite exciting and worth the extra train ride. After the train ride, we would take a bus that dropped us close to the hotel. We also got to see a lot of car and scooter collisions. Most low speed so not too many critical accidents. Drivers there seemed to take a lot of chances. Lots of Love,

When In Rome?? May 15, 2008

The flight to Rome was fine, we landed at FCO terminal A, unbeknown to us our luggage went to terminal B. Took some time and a whole lot of foot work to find it. We had already started to file reports when Cris located our lost piece in another terminal. Customs was a breeze, and then into Rome. Another cabby approached and wanted 85 Euros, the cab we got charged us 57. It was quite a ride to our hotel. Roma Cassia north of the city. This hotel was also nice, down a narrow street with apartments all around. Got to the hotel, checked in and got situated. Went for a walk to find an ATM to get some more Euros, and to get the lay of the land. Found a Pizza shop, market, and a warehouse store. Now I a pro at getting veggies and such, using their one scale and tagging it. Water was a commodity that is in demand in Rome as well as the rest of Europe. In the hotel a 16oz bottle is 3Euros and at the store across the street the were 18 centavos. 100 centavos equal one Euro. Guess where we bought our water. Our first night in Rome we ate dinner at the hotel. Dinner was very good, pasta first and then the main course. No drinks this night, a bottle of San Pelligrino (10 Euros) . Too much food to have dessert. Retired to get some rest for the Vatican the next day. Rome will take another post.

Bye, Bye, Spain

May 13, 2008 We stayed in Spain for a couple of days and then on to Rome. Our visit was a good opportunity to see how the locals live. The hotel was in a residential/commercial area with a very large mall close by. We enjoyed some food at the mall and walked through a large part of the area. Tried to buy some fruits and veggies in the local market, and had much difficulty. The upstairs checkouts had no scales, and then after waiting in line for-ever I found out that you weigh your own stuff ii at the one scale located in the produce dept. By the time we gained this knowledge I was quite angry. No purchase this day. Purchased a power adapter for the computer and the rest of the equipment that works on standard US power. The only casualty was my beard trimmer. Chop chop. The rain was abundant for the time we were there. Hotel was very contemporary, with glass walls for the bathroom, marble walls, granite night stands and solid wooden floors. Very nice, Vinnci Maritimo in Barcelona. Relaxed and enjoyed, then grabbed a taxi for the airport. The airport was a surprise, not too much security and we were ready to go with some time to spare. Gin(Jim) Rummy and coffee at the cafe. On to Rome and new experiences.

Cruisin into Spain

May 10, 2008 The cruise was fine with some minor problems. The berth we had developed some noises at the junctions of some plating. The view we had over the Grand Promenade was nice, and we could watch all the parades and the specials from the window seat. Correcting the noise problem took a lot longer than it should have. A whole nother story. All the time we had at sea was good with a few rough spots. The dining staff was very good and dinner mates were friendly. After such a time on the ship to set foot on land (Barcelona, Spain ) was a bit unexpected. The landing went smoothly, disembarking was almost painless, and the only hang up was luggage retrieval. One bag was on a different conveyor belt (not the color we had) but after it was located it was on to customs. Carrying and rolling the luggage Cris and I walked straight out the doorway and into the mass of buses and taxis awaiting us. Unlike the USA, when a ship arrives in Spain their is no customs check. No passport stamp, no questions, no looks from officials, not even a welcome sign. Kind of disappointing, after all the stuff we go through around the areas we know. Welcome to Barcelona. First cabby approached me and wanted 75 Euros for the trip to the hotel. Got a regulated cab that cost 21Euros for the same trip. Buyer beware. Got to the hotel in a short time. By the by, a Euro is costs about $1.55-1.65 depending on how it's exchanged. That's all for now. Love to All. Cris & Bob

60th Birthday Celebration

Cris & I decided to make a long vacation of it. We got on the Voyager of the Seas in Galveston, Tx. and headed for Barcelona Spain. The trip took 13 days and we pretty much had a good time. We me some Scots and English right away and spent a lot of time with them. The ship stopped in Miami, Fl. Azores (Punta Delgato) Cartagena, Spain and then we got off in Barcelona. Along the way we got into some weather and I got a bit sick. It was about the 4th day out and the seas were very rough. I think I got some bug because it was not typical seasickness. When I got better, Cris got Ill. She was still woozy when we got to the Azores, but we made it to the city. Went with the Scots, Anne & Chris Aspden. We hung with them a lot. Dinner mates so we stayed together a lot. We met some of their mates and learned some words like Q(line up) Luvlee and the proper English way of speaking. They teased us a lot, it was quite fun. Izzy and Liz were a kick, Jackie and John were good. The casino time we spent was okay, not too much. Dinners were fun and the talk sessions were the most enjoyable with these people. We live in different parts of the world but have a lot of the same thought patterns. Scary ? The Cruise was good had some minor problems, I will try to get to them in the next blog. We had other dinner mates that didn't show up much, We tried not to miss them. That's about it for now. Love to All,

After the Wedding

After the wedding we left for Pahrump. (April 16, 2008 ) Lex spent some time with us and the Barts before we got under way. Back to our digs in the desert for some more pressure filled days. Not too many, we had to leave on the 23rd of April for Las Vegas to spend the night before flying to the Houston area. We stayed at the Swilling house for a couple of days and then to Needville with Pat & Sherry. That Sat afternoon when we got there, the neighbor ( Fred ) was having his 60th birthday party and we were invited for some good ole Texas Barbeque. Well it was some of the best brisket we have ever tasted. we pretty much agreed to that. Celebrated with Fred & Loretta and their families and then settled down for a quiet night. Sunday mornin came a shinin through the winders and we knew it was time to go. Pat and Sherry shuttled us from their house to the port at Galveston. We boarded the Voyager of the Seas headed for Barcelona Spain. The voyage would take us 13 days to get to Spain and the ship would stop along the way. The boarding was very smooth, suprising because about 3200 people got on. The voyage stared and I will try to keep you updated. Boarded on April 27, 2008. Love to All,

The Wedding

April 14, 2008.... Well Toddy has taken the big step forward and Married Olivia Elias. They were married on April 12th in Costa Mesa, Ca. Olivia is a charming young women and she dotes on Todd. Anyhow, the wedding was at the Costa Mesa C.C. and there were about 80 people at the ceremony and reception. Seemed the only hitch was that we forgot the rings at the hotel, bot Louie and I managed to retrieve them. The event went smoothly, and the officiant did a fine job. Olivia and Todd were wed about 7pm and then the dinner and parranda started. We got to meet some of the in-laws and cousins from Olivias side. They were charming and we all got along great. The party lasted until about midnight and then it was back to the Westin and a quick run through In and Out for some burgers. The whole night was good, Todd got married, Lex was with us and the old friends from Riverside celebrated with us. Cris and I are very pleased with the way things turned out. The kids( Olivia and Todd ) put the wedding together in a very short period of time. We are proud of them and looking forward to the future. Back to So.Cal.

April 2,2008 Well things happened pretty fast. The day we were hunting for the herb farm we got the news that Todd & Olivia were getting married on April 12th. We had planned to go south and so we finalized our plans. We arrived at Canyon RV Park on the 8th of April so we could help with anything needed. On the 10th I turned the ripe old age of 60. A bit older for sure, don't know how it feels yet but when I resolve my feelings I will let you know. Got to have a nice lunch and dinner. The Olive Garden still does a good job and the betrothed and us had a good time. Friday was a lazy day and Saturday came on like a storm. We had to go to Ambers 15th birthday lunch where Alexia joined us. After the lunch the girls had nail appts. and I went to get Todd and take him to the Westin @ South Coast Plaza. We all stayed there on Sat. cause Lex hooked us up. In the next couple of blogs I will give you the highlights of the wedding and let you know more. The weather was great as usual. Nevada Still

Been busy, mostly doing nothing I suppose. We did some more exploring in this area and tried to find the infamous herb farm. Brother Pat asked about the popular spot in the Pahrump Valley. Best kept secret in town. We looked and looked, researched the web, and here is what we found. There is an herb farm here, it has been closed for over a year and some. We drove to the place and located the green houses. The place still has equipment and all the necessities for operation but it has a problem with money. The operation uses propane to heat the hoses and the water for the Hydro-ponic aspect of it. We spoke with the owner as a dog sat by his side and growled at us continually. The owner seemed like a very nice gentleman and he was hopeful that with some solar energy and some expected financing he will be able to be back operating soon. We gave our best wishes to the him and drove through the rest of the property. The green houses were very large and the heaters and storage tanks were abundant. Very interesting venture for sure, and oh yeah it is located near the Chicken ranch. We then stopped at a local casino for lunch and to make another donation. Peace and Love,

Surprise in the Pahrump Area

We took a day trip with Barbara & Les Peterson to an area we were always curious about. We drove to Tecopa, Ca. which is about 40 miles from here. In the booming area of Tecopa and the surrounding hills is a place called China Ranch. This is a date farm located in the lower valley that seems to be part of Death Valley. Getting to China Ranch is pretty easy, but the last mile or so of the trip was on a dirt road that meandered downhill into a canyon. Speed limit 15mph and to heed it is wise. Arriving at the bottom of the canyon we were in for a pleasant surprise. Date Palm trees all over the place. A stream that they say runs all year long and supplies enough water for the trees, the store, some residences, and a bed and breakfast. We had the lunch we had brought and toured the trees and the gift shop. Still amazed at this place in the middle of the desert. We left and stopped at some hot water pools along the way and you could smell the chemicals in the water and see the salt and lime. We then stopped at the town of Shoshone, Ca. and went through the museum ad the country store. Diesel was $4.72 gallon. Didn't need any. We also stopped at some Indian digs along the hwy and had a photo op. Great Day. We all had a very good time and are still talking about trip.

More Nevada Stuff

Got back to Nv. Not for long. Took a trip to Las Vegas for Felisha's 21st. B'Day. We arrived on Sunday to meet a bunch of folks. Alexia made the trip and we were sure glad to see her. The libatations flowed and maybe a little too much for me. The weekend was good and the B'Day girl seemed to have a good time. Tried to get into a show, not much luck. We stayed at Treasure Island and our room looked down on the pirate show. We toured some other places and walked the strip for a time. Vegas is changing and not so very inexpensve any longer. Oh well, times change. Had a good time with everyone, and after a final breakfast we dropped Lex at the airport and returned to Pahrump. The week seemed to go pretty fast and we started to plan our next little venture. It was a good one, not enough room left in this blog. Will devote another blog to the next trip.

Back to NV.

Back in Pahrump we got to settle back in. Didn't settle for too long, on Friday we headed to So. Cal. and visit with our peeps down there. We picked up Robyn at Bullhead City and then drove south to check on Nana. We stayed at Mark & Rita's Fri. and we went to visit Nana on Sat. Good visit, although Nana seemed pretty tired. Robyn stayed at Rebeca's and we went back to Corona to hang out there. Sunday was a day to cook Corned Beef and Cabbage for the family and Todd & Olivia came over too. Cris made soda bread and it all was grand. We had a nice visit, and on Monday we played around with some people that played hookie from work. Lunched at the Backstreet, saw the gang there and said hi to Dickman before touring around to different shopping venues. A visit to Tom's Farm to get some fresh veggies to take back. On Tuesday we got to visit with Barbara and Mac at their home some a much needed catch up on old times. Nice to see them and the both of them were doing well. Went to Los Amigos for a Green Burrito only to find out that the citites redevelopment project tour down the building. After crying for a bit we went to Tony's and had a burrito there. After a stop a Grainger's we headed back to Pahrump and our home on wheels. Returned on Tuesday and stayed here for a few days. Love to All. Happy Easter, Cris & Bob

Tripping from the Canyon

The rest of the weekend at the canyon was cold and windy. We were able to spend some more time with Ric & Robyn except Ric had to visit the doc on Sunday afternoon. We stayed till Monday morn, woke it and it was 10 degrees with the water lines frozen. Finally able to thaw the water line and got ready to travel. Got on the road and traveled to Kingman, Az. and stopped for lunch and fuel. We then proceeded up Az. 93 to the Hoover Dam and into Nevada. We had to stop for an inspection with homeland security before we could cross the dam. The check was brief and the delay was minimal. Crossing over the dam always give me a sense of pride. The fact that many people were able to work together and assemble such a tremendous tribute to man is encouraging. There is a dam by-pass bridge being built, and it should finish sometime in 2009. Check it out on the web. We stopped at a Home Depot in Vegas and the headed to Pahrump, Nv and Barb & Les. Good trip and safe traveling. Couldn't ask for more. Love to All,

Grand Canyon Away

Got to the big hole on Tues. afternoon. Checked into the campground at Trailer Village with some difficulties due to the snow piles and water. Got settled in and went to have dinner with Robyn & Ric at their apart. Nice to see them and catch up. We did some touring around the park and had some nice walks. The weather has been cold and windy for the most part and tonight it's supposed to drop to 16 degrees, but the winds should die down. We did some relaxing and met some new friends. With the poor conditions in the park it became a trying experience to find a decent spot. That's how we met Jack & Mary. While traversing some of the terrain to find a decent spot, Jack hit a very icy patch of street and his truck lost traction causing his fifth wheel to leave the pavement and become dangerously close to a tree. I went to help (if I could) and so did a few other campers. We dug some snow, tried using some straps to pull it out and finally realized that a winch was needed. Jack kept calling AAA and they kept telling him that they couldn't cover the rv cause he didn't have that kind of membership. We were lucky that Robyn knew the phone numbers of the Xanterra tow service. Jody from the company got to us after dark and in about 20 minutes and some handy winch work, the truck and fifth wheel were back on solid ground and we were all relieved. No damage to either the truck, trailer, or any of the kind souls that were trying to help.We had a couple of cocktails and then dinner. The temps were dropping fast, so we decided to call it a night. Although it was a sad experience for Jack & Mary, it brought some good people together. I'll catch you up on the rest of our stay in a couple of days. Peace and Love,

Westward Hoe

Tried to leave Canyon, Tx. and Jerry noticed a screw head in the tire of the trailer. So this part of the adventure stated at Discount Tire Store in Amarillo, Tx. Two screws in one tire, about six inches apart. They got us back on the road in just over an hour. I've purchased from them in the past, and most likely will in the future. Took off and hit some head winds for about 100 miles, then the winds eased and we headed toward the west. Made it to Gallup, NM for about a 440 mile trip and decided to stop for the night. We had planned to stay at a Walmart paring lot. but we heard the night temp was going to be in the low 20s. So we ( I ) chickened out and we got a spot at USA RV Park. We got some sleep, ate showered and were okay. The park was clean, not memorable, and seemed a little pricey. Left Gallup and continued on our journey toward the Grand Canyon. Made it to Flagstaff, Az. in good time and did some grocery shopping. We planned to cook a couple of nights for Robyn & Ric so we needed some supplies. Last night we ate at R&R's and had rib-eye steak dinner. Great. Tonight we had corned-beef,cabbage, and red potatoes. Pretty darned good. Amarillo and Family

Left from Roanoke, Tx. to Amarillo. The drive was good, head wind 10-15 knots most of the way. Fuel was being sucked as we drove. Arrived at my niece, Sherry Story( Mary's Daughter) and her husband Jerry's house in the afternoon ( 4pm) and got set up in short order. They live in Canyon City which is south of Amarillo, Tx. Nice house with an abundance of land. Seemed larger than an acre I was told it is. We set up in the driveway and made the necessary connections. We were able to see all the children, whom we haven't seen in almost four years. Robyn, Summer, Dillon, and Taylor. Quite the active kids and all just lovely young people. We enjoyed their youth and happiness, and am sure we will miss them greatly in the coming months. They all seem to be doing well and they know they are loved. During our visit we ate too much, stayed up too late and maybe even drank a bit. We toured around their city, and the surrounding areas. We went to Palo Dura Canyon for an afternoon and we were very impressed. It was a fun adventure. We met some more family and friends and our hosts were gracious. Cris and I enjoyed our stay but we needed to get on the road to get closer to home. We departed on Friday, Feb. 25 to more travel. Still Heading West

Our week in the Dallas area went quickly. We got to visit with niece Rene' and her family, Dave & Jackie Kaiser, Jeff Winegarten, and a local joint called Babes. The Kaiser's ET AL left Riverside in 92 and settled in Arlington, Tx. They are doing well, empty nest for the folks, kids are doing well. The rest (Babe's) in Roanoke, Tx was no doubt the best Fried Chicken that we have ever partaken of. Pretty much a dump, but still worth the trip. We did some exploring around the area and were pretty much impressed with the whole area. The locals were nice and temps were good (cold at night) sunny and brisk during the day. Lakeside RV Park was quiet, clean and centrally located. The park is under conversion from a mobile home park to rv's, good place to stay. We toured Dallas, went to the Grassy Knoll and some other museums in the area of the assassination. We had a lovely visit and dinner with Anne Senechal at a rest called Hatties in an eclectic part of south Dallas. Got to catch up on old times and what has been going in our lives. Anne looked good and seems to have found a nice spot with her employer. All in All, our time in this area was very nice. We will have to come back. On the Road Again

We took off from the southern part of Texas and made our way north. We arrived in Roanoke, Tx. on Fri. and tried to get settled in. The drive was pretty normal and the weather held. The park we are in is near Texas Motor Speedway and is layed out well. We tried to get close to the lake, no room at the inn. With our arrival we attracted the arrival of a couple of storms. The rain and wind were of the scary kind and we took no chances and shut down the electric appliances. In our home we can operate on batteries for up to a week. Cris read and I played on the web.

An update, all of our woes with regards to the electrical problems we have had, have been resolved. With some help from blogs ( and superior intelligence "Ha Ha") I was able to affect all the repairs. We don't have a problem with repair centers, But it seems they all want you to bring your home to them, leave it, and they will get to it in "Due Time My Pretty". Wasn't too impressed with that option. Was able to order all of the parts on the internet and gleaned some repair techniques in the same place. We installed a convection/baking/and microwave oven instead of just a microwave, got the refrig repaired, power supplies active, new TV, computer and surround sound and all the other things necessary for a civilized lifstyle. It sure was a relief to have it all done and to be able to travel again. With being in one spot for so long, it was a challenge to remember how all my toys were positioned in the storage areas. Merry Christmas ans Happy New Year

Sunrise, Chrismas Day. Date is wrong.

This post is long overdue. We left Needville and headed to East Point, Ga. to get Lex. We arrived on the 21st of Dec, had dinner with Lex, and then the next morning we took off for Hilton Head SC. Prior to leaving we went to Thumb's Up and had breakfast with John & Kathy Lessl to share some thoughts and food. The drive to Hilton Head was pretty easy, we had rented a car in Houston so the price of deisel wouldn't kill us. We had snacks and stopped for coffee, rained some of the way. We stayed at the Westin (compliments of Lex) Hilton Head through Christmas and returned to East Point about the 28th. Our stay in SC was awsome, enough relaxation and small trips to satisfy. We went to Savannah, Ga for a day trip and had a good time. One tour was very good, informative and exciting, the other Ghosts and Cornerstones was a disaster. Total waste of money. When we arrive back in East Point we had a nice dinner with Jack,Dory,& Eamon. Then of course, we had to celebrate New Years at the Lessl house with Roman, Jenn, & Goldie and Scott and Jessica. Brought in the New Year with all the party we could stand. Left East Point on the 2nd of January and headed back to Needville. Arrived here on the 3rd and took the rental car back. We stayed overnight somewhere in La. and had dinner at a Shoney's. First and last time for that. We had a very good vacation, and really enjoyed our time with Lex. We did miss the rest of our Family. Attentiveness

So much for posting more , and keeping you up to date. I know it may seem hard to believe, I cannot seem to get all the projects done in a day that I used to day around my daily work schedule. When the day is over, I wonder sometimes " where did the time go?" Anyhow, we are still in Needville, Tx. until this Friday, and then we will travel to the Dallas area. We plan to spend a week or so there and then head a little further north before we head west. Our time in Needville has been fun and we have had many good times with the Texas Ryan's, McGaws, Swillings and the rest of the group from around here. Shawn and Rebecca were our roomies for a bit, but now they are back in their house in Richmond. I was able to assist in some minor ways with some mouldings and base for their new floors. I need a rest from their house, it seems that the house liked to attack me when all I was trying to do was Make It Prettier. We were able to help the McGaws get moved back and Tommy, Cameron, Kevin, And Grandpa Pat were there in the thick of it. That's when their house first attacked me. Cameron, Cris and I got to talk about Rock And Roll Music during the trips. We all brought out the trivia about different classic groups. One of the members of ZZ Top lives down the street form the McGaws house, don't know which one. Last month we were at Becketts Baptism (Methodist) and really liked their church and congregation. Had Dinner after, and all was well. Enough for now. Peace and Love,
